Jerusalem, 12 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — For the first time, Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security is opening a professional course tailored to Thai foreign workers in agriculture. The course will be taught in Hebrew and translated into Thai by an interpreter. This, said the Ministry, is a unique course for Thai workers active in agriculture in the fields of spraying and pest control.
The course’s primary goal is to continue to ensure that Israeli agricultural produce and the use of pesticides meet the strictest standards, explained the Ministry. In doing so, the course provides foreign workers, who actually carry out the spraying and pest control, with professional knowledge and practical tools that will help them perform their work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the principles of environmental protection and public health. This is done by conveying the message without intermediaries, in an “accessible and clear manner to this target audience.”
“The initiative was born against the backdrop of changes in the workforce in the agricultural sector since the beginning of the ‘Iron Swords’ War, and the growing need to train new and professional workers, in order to continue their safe and efficient activities in the field,” said the Ministry.
