Jerusalem, 18 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Economic Affairs Committee approved the regulations proposed by Israel’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Eli Cohen, which require electric vehicle charging station operators to report real-time data on the locations of all public charging stations in Israel, their occupancy and price. The move, said the Energy Ministry, will allow the creation of applications that will display in real time and at any given moment, where the charging stations are closest to you, and what the price is at each station.
Apps will provide drivers with all the information they need in real time to choose the best charging station for them. In addition, they will provide a significant response to drivers’ concerns about being left without a charging option during their trip – thereby strengthening public confidence in the transition to electric transportation.
The move comes against the backdrop of the significant increase in the number of electric vehicles currently on Israeli roads, and the growing need to provide accessible, reliable and affordable charging solutions for all drivers. The regulations are also expected to contribute to increased competition in the field, reducing air pollution and saving energy.
