Jerusalem, 16 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics released the data from the “Labor Force Survey” for May 2026.

Seasonally adjusted data for May 2026 (compared to April 2026, among those aged 15 and over):

Percentage of the labor force – 61.6% (61.9% in April).

Employment Rate (percentage of employed people out of the total population) – 59.9% (60.1% in April).

Percentage of unemployed in the labor force – 2.8% (3.0% in April).

Percentage of the labor force – 61.6% (61.8% in April).

Employment rate (percentage of employed people out of the total population) – 59.8% (60.0% in April).

Percentage of unemployed in the labor force – 2.9% (2.8% in April).

Employment rate excluding those temporarily absent from work all week for economic reasons – 59.5% (58.2% in April).

Percentage of those temporarily absent from work all week by selected reasons: economic reasons – 9.7% (26.5% in April), military reserve duty – 12.2% (11.1% in April), other – 0.7% (0.5% in April).

Percentage of men temporarily absent from work all week by selected reasons: economic reasons – 12.3% (25.3% in April), military reserve duty – 26.1% (20.7% in April), other – a small number that cannot be published (0.7% in April).

Percentage of women temporarily absent from work all week by selected reasons: economic reasons – 7.9% (27.6% in April), military reserve duty – 2.9% (unchanged from April), other – 0.8% (0.4% in April.)
