Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Chair MK Yuli Yoel Edelstein (Likud) held an online meeting on Tuesday with his counterparts from the Baltic states: Remigijus Motuzas, Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs at the Seimas, the Parliament of Lithuania; Ināra Mūrniece, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Saeima, the Parliament of Latvia; and Marko Mihkelson, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Riigikogu, the Parliament of Estonia.
In the meeting, which was held in a Q&A format, MK Edelstein reviewed for his counterparts the reasons that Israel had embarked on a campaign against Iran at this time, and clarified the goals of the war. The participants expressed their hopes of seeing an Iran without nuclear weapons, and inquired into the possibilities of future negotiations in the wake of the war and the European Union’s role in such a scenario.
