Jerusalem, 21 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of agriculture and Food Security is launching a new national initiative for the rehabilitation of the South: establishing an agricultural village for young men and women who will integrate into the work of the farms and assist in the rehabilitation of agriculture in the region, near Gaza which was severely damaged in the “Iron Swords” War.

At the center of the project is the establishment of a young farmers’ village which will allow young men and women to gain practical experience in real agricultural life, acquire a profession for the future. A cornerstone laying ceremony for the “Yevul Youth Village” in Moshav Yevul in the region took place today (Thursday, August 21).

The village will offer soldiers and veterans and young people aged 21-35 a supportive environment that will allow them to connect with the world of agriculture and integrate into it. The program will accept up to 30 young people each year, who will receive housing in a young community, full-time employment opportunities on nearby farms, practical professional agricultural training and career guidance that will help them specialize in the field. In addition, the community will receive social enrichment and consolidation activities, with an emphasis on strengthening Zionist and Israeli identity, free of charge, as part of a mission to strengthen settlement and agriculture in the south.

As part of the five-year plan to restore the region and the heavy damage caused to agriculture, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has committed to helping farmers restore destroyed and abandoned farms.
