Jerusalem, 31 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety, through the Ayalon Highways Company, is promoting the Brown Line project – a BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) line, a mass transit system that will connect Rishon LeZion, Be’er Yaakov, Ramla and Lod, (all within the greater tel Aviv Area) while receiving priority at traffic lights and will change the experience of traveling on public transportation thanks to the frequency of trips and an accurate and reliable schedule.

The line is approximately 30 kilometers long, most of it on an exclusive lane and includes 46 stations, approximately 30 kilometers of bicycle paths, and associated infrastructure to improve the urban environment.

The Ministry of Finance transferred 380 million Shekels ($) to the Ministry of Transportation for the implementation of the BRT Brown Line project in Be’er Ya’akov. Work to advance the line will begin soon.

“The Brown Line will provide a quality transportation solution for hundreds of thousands of residents on an exclusive route, with high frequency, priority at traffic lights, full accessibility, and a connection to Israel Railways lines, the light rail, and future metro lines,” said the Ministry of Transportation.
