Jerusalem, 6 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s National Planning and Building Council and Ministry of Tourism approved the establishment of regulated overnight parking lots along Israel’s coasts.
The change is intended to expand the public’s options for enjoying the coastal resource, and to encourage sustainable tourism development, while preserving natural values, planning transparency, and free access to the beaches.
In addition, the possibility of establishing designated centers for education and water sports with the accompanying use of catering was approved – all within the framework of the “open beach” designation.
The Ministry of Tourism said it sees this move as an important step in making the experience of outdoor recreation accessible to the general public, as part of the national effort to restore and strengthen tourism in Israel – both for tourists from Israel and tourists from abroad.
