Jerusalem, 18 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The left-wing Democrats Party announced it will hold primaries for its Knesset slate on July 20 ahead of Israel’s upcoming legislative election.
Candidate registration will close on June 25, with the final list of contenders set to be released on June 30. Party members who join by July 12 will be eligible to vote. Party leader Yair Golan will retain the top slot and will not run in the primary.
National elections are legally mandated to be held by October 27, the end of the current Knesset’s four-year term.
