Following a year-long investigation, an indictment will be filed against two main suspects. In June 2025, detectives from the Coastal District Police opened a covert investigation into a women trafficking ring. According to suspicion, the suspects found young women of various ages using social media – some with disabilities or in deep emotional and financial distress – and forced them to provide sexual services in various apartments. The investigation, which lasted for many months, included complex evidence gathering, the use of advanced technological means, and locating the victims. The suspects’ modus operandi was based on luring the women with false offers of “office work.” After providing them with housing and a seemingly legitimate salary, the suspects advertised them on social media, and through threats and pressure, forced them to provide sexual services in apartments they had rented in advance. As the investigation moved to the open stage last month, several individuals were arrested on suspicion of serious offenses of human trafficking, aggravated pimping, and extortion by threats. Today, with the completion of the evidentiary foundation, a statement of prosecution was filed in the Haifa Magistrate’s Court against the two main suspects in the case – a man and a woman, residents of the area.
